Cyndi Freeman
With over two decades of storytelling experience and fifteen years dedicated to coaching and instructing others, Cyndi Freeman is a seasoned professional in the world of storytelling. She has honed her craft not only as a performer but also as a mentor, guiding individuals for public speaking in professional environments, preparing for performances on stage and podcasts, and assisting families and professionals in sharing and archiving oral histories.
Cyndi's Story
Business Storytelling: Cyndi's expertise extends to teaching storytelling for business, conducting workshops for a diverse array of clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to grassroots nonprofit organizations. Among her clientele are ZenDesk, Janssen: Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, UNICEF – USA, The 9/11 Tribute Museum, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and The New York Public Library.
Coaching Performers and Public Speakers: As a lead instructor with both The Story Studio and The Moth Community Program, and a story coach for the RISK! podcast, Cyndi plays an integral role in supporting storytellers at all levels of experience, providing guidance and mentorship to seasoned performers and emerging talents alike.

Oral Histories and Community Engagement: Currently, Cyndi spearheads an oral history project in collaboration with the Irish Arts Center, delving into the narratives of founders, members, and artists who have shaped the center's legacy since the late 1960s. Additionally, she works closely with families, assisting them in collecting and preserving legacy stories for future generations. Cyndi's commitment to community engagement extends further through grants from the SU-CASA Program and the Brooklyn Arts Fund, which support storytelling programs in senior centers across Brooklyn. Through these initiatives, she empowers the elderly to share their rich life experiences, culminating in the creation of two documentaries.

Performer and Producer: Cyndi has performed and produced shows on stages worldwide with one-person shows featured in festivals across the globe including the Edinburgh Fringe, South By Southwest Interactive, The NY Fringe Festival, and The Edmonton Fringe Festival. Her storytelling has been showcased on platforms such as RISK!, The Moth, The Story Collider, and Stories from The Stage (WGBH/PBS). Her comedy credits include appearances on HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central's The Colbert Report.
